Our musclecore heroes E.A.K. just uploaded a new video-clip, shot for the track «Don't Step on my Toes» by Pedro Agra, on their official MySpace. «Don't Step on my Toes» is one of E.A.K.'s six tracks presented in «Bipolar» split-CD with their Portuguese countryman Crushing Sun, which contributed with six tracks as well. «Bipolar» is available now through Major Label Industries.

APRIL 17, 2008

That’s right, folks. MAJOR LABEL INDUSTRIES is proud to bring you «BIPOLAR», a split-CD featuring two of the most promising and exciting bands in the portuguese underground scene. EAK and CRUSHING SUN both contribute with six original tracks each, showcasing two sides of a coin that’s as extreme as modern extreme music gets. EAK’s musclecore will make you think twice about their sanity, while CRUSHING SUN’S take on experimental death metal will surely beat you senseless. Mixed by Dan Coutant and mastered by Alan Douches at the West West Side Studios (in New York),
«Bipolar» is a vicious assault to the senses. Pre-order this release now and put your hands on the amazing exclusive-designed t-shirt we prepared for these pre-order packs. Available for € 20,00 (postage included). Pre-orders taken until April 26th by this e-mail: info@majorlabelindustries.com

Next Sunday, March 2nd, PROCESS OF GUILT will join Dutch outfit Officium Triste and Spaniards Autumnal for a concert taking place in Panóias. The night promises to be enrapturing and memorable, especially because it will allow the audience a first glimpse of some of the material that will appear on the band's next studio release – an absolute premiere.

This date will also marks the final steps of the promotion for their much lauded debut «Renounce», which took the band to all four corners of their native country, impressing fans with their devastating performances and also sharing the stage with bands as diverse as Katatonia, The Ocean, Intronaut, Swallow The Sun, Napalm Death, Watain and Moho, among many others. “The shows have been the most pleasant aspect of «Renounce»'s post-release phase”, says vocalist/guitarist Hugo Santos, summarizing. “We have noticed an enormous evolution during this period, that has been reflected by a greater commitment, both by the band and by our audience.”. Click here to see a list of review quotes on "Renounce".

The collective formed by Hugo Santos, Nuno David on guitar, Custódio Rato on bass e Gonçalo Correia on drums will spend the next few months buried in the rehearsal room, where the writing process for the widely anticipated sophomore effort is already underway. “The sketches for the new material point towards the exploring of new dynamics and atmospheres; songs sound more dynamic in terms of rhythms and melodies, bringing our darkest, slowest streak to the forefront.

In the meanwhile, the band has regularly made some live videos available  [at www.youtube.com/ProcessofGuilt], captured during the «Renounce» promotion gigs. So that their followers won't feel deprived of new material until this new album sees the light of day, a split release [on 10” vinyl] with the mysterious British entity known as  Caïna has been officially announced for Spring. “The idea of releasing something like this has been formed since «Renounce» was released”, explains the frontman. “We wanted to create something different from our usual sound, so we chose to do a cover of «[But] I Am Still» – originally by the Finnish band This Empty Flow, a band that is among our references. During the last year some releases have appeared that have captured our attention for their “strangeness”, and have given us possibilities for such a partnership. Within this goal, Caïna's last work, «Mourner», seemed eclectic enough for us to build a collaboration that will be different from what could be expected from both bands”.

Major Label Industries is proud to welcome in its ranks the Portuguese band OBLIQUE RAIN. With its debut, «Isohyet», Oblique Rain proved in 2007 that alternative/progressive metal can have a metal soul and a melodic muscle, being hailed as one of the best revelation acts by the readers of [Portuguese magazine] Loud!. Now, the Porto band inked a deal with MLI, which will issue their next work, which has the working title of «October Dawn». Welcome to the family, guys.

Everything’s quiet on the surface but boiling on the inside on your favorite label’s office these days. While Simbiose came back from their Brazilian tour in one [well, six...] piece and apparently let people who survived their concert Grind Fest return home in one piece as well, new crust attacks are being prepared. On February the 16th Johnny, Mosgo and Co. will hit Lótus Bar’s stage with friends-in-crust Reltih and metal buddies Aykien. Before that, on the 9th this month, the Medussa Club in London will testify the stage-power of our boys, in a concert together with English Dogs, Varukers and The Commies. Scary. Meanwhile, find their promissed tour-diary here. More news on their announced re-issues and split w/ Agathocles soon.

[Before The Rain] will also hit the stage at the end of this month. They will endarken Spanish very own Orthodox concerts in Portugal with their doom metal visions, together with Portuguese buddies Katabatic. Refere to our Events page for full-poster of two dark nights ahead. This month the song «Paragraph», taken from their Major Label Industries debut «...One Day Les», is also featured in UK’s Terrorizer Magazine compilation-CD. A major achievement for a well-deserved group of people.

Process Of Guilt are moving their monolithic doom arses to studio somewhen between Springtime and Summer to record the follower of their debut «Renouce». Before that, they play with Officium Triste and Autumnal in Panoias [Braga] on March 2nd. A split 10” with Brittish mysterious entity Caïna is also announced for this year, with edition duties taken care by Major Label Industries.

JANUARY 9, 2008
The day is coming... the split «Bipolar» featuring two of the most proeminent Portuguese bands of the moment [E.A.K. & Crushing Sun] is on the last stages of mixing and mastering in West West Side Music Studio in New York, with the mixing done by Dan Coutant [Misfits] and mastering by Alan Douches [Mastodon, Nile, Converge]. «Bipolar» will be two EPs in one only CD and should be released around March. A definitive release date will be set on the next weeks. Expect the usual pre-order extravaganza, with exclusive designed t-shirts and other goodies.

Simbiose heading this week to Brazil to kick of a three-week tour around the new album «Evolution?». We should have a kind of a tour-diary here one day or another. We hope our crust boys get back in one piece from the other side of the sea. Meanwhile, a split-CD with Agathocles is being prepared for this year, with your favorite label on the release side, and we will have re-releases of both «Naked Mental Violence» and «Bounded In Adversity» back-catalogue available somewhere this year as well [definitive dates T.B.A.]

JANUARY 5, 2008
We’re going to print a new slap of [Before The Rain] doomed t-shirts. This exclusive edition will have only 36 pieces and will be available in the next couple of live shows played by the band [official live presentation of «...One Day Less» in Fábrica do Som, Porto on January 11th and HardMetalFest, in Mangualde on January 12th] and here. You can pre-order your own shirt now by sending us an e-mail. Price: Eur 12,50 [postage include].

SEPTEMBER 18, 2007
As announced previously, the good reactions to our brand new child are popping up. Find here a [Before The Rain] interview feature in this month's Loud! Magazine. Simbiose were also featured there, with an interview and an 8/10 review.
Other than this it's the usual buzz in the local radio shows and internet. Opuskulo Webzine and DaemoivM are already on it as well. Underworld magazine have picked up Simbiose for an interview in the current issue as well - we'll drop the scans on this later.
On other news, we've updated our distribution page. Check out the new releases from My Kingdom Music, already available.

SEPTEMBER 17, 2007
We are proud to announce that Major Label Industries will market the new Corpus Christii album, «Rising» for the Portuguese territory. This means we will distribute the record and also promote it. We can also sell directly to our costumers, so get in touch now if you want book your copy.
Corpus Christii is the premier Portuguese black metal outfit. Their albums «Saeculum Domini», «The Fire God», «In League With Black Metal», «Tormented Belief» and «The Torment Contiues» are fine examples of how deathcrushing black metal should sound and a flag well pierced in the international scene. «Rising» is a more mature and varied manifest, with all the CC fine sonic-perverted trademarks plus an unexpected taste for details.
Our marketing deal will allow us to distribute, market and promote «Rising» in Portugal. For promotion and distribution outside Portugal, please contact Nightmare Productions.

SEPTEMBER 14, 2007
We've been keeping our feet wet with all the marketing, promotion and distribution work around our new releases. Everyone seem to like «One Day Less» and «Evolution?» a lot and the first reviews are popping up (8/10 in Loud! Magazine for Simbiose, 8/10 in Opuskulo Webzine - for Before The Rain, and so forth). More about this later.
Distribution-wise, things are slowly but steadily growing. Most of our distributors are stocking the records already and you can purchase them there. More are on the way, but you can always buy directly from us if you don't find them in your local mailorder/store.
Our bands will also be in the road in a few weeks now. Please take a look into our Events-list and ATTEND them. New merch will pop up in the next shows (and soon in this site as well), so grab your goodies there and support our bands.
Our distributed labels catalogue was also major-updated today. Please check them here.

FEBRUARY 13, 2007

Portuguese Major Label Industries is happy to announce the signing of two new bands for its rooster: Simbiose and BeforeTheRain. SIMBIOSE is the oldest and most important crust Portuguese act, with a career spanning more than 15 years and countless DIY releases, including splits with Driller Killer and Disface. A new album is being recorded this month for a late April release. BEFORE THE RAIN is a Portuguese melancholic doom metal band with a twist, which has been deflowering its ideas since 1997 and which will have the debut release, «One Day Less», out on MLI in April as well. In the line-up, several well-known musicians of the Portuguese scene (including ex-Sculpture and actual Process Of Guilt members) make sure there is enough gloominess in thy doom.

FEBRUARY 9, 2007
We just updated the distribution section, with a pre-sale mode of the new MONARCH limited 12” LP, «Die Tonight», out soon on Throne Records. Check it out, if you live in Portugal. DECEMBER 18, 2006
Our post-doom boys Process Of Guilt have been gathering great reviews a bit everywhere to their «RENOUNCE» debut, as the first reactions are starting to drop. Portugal’s Loud! Magazine praised the record with a 9/10 review and has a two-page feature with the band in it’s December issue. Also, the Portuguese magazine Underworld has a one-page feature with the band in the current issue, and granted «RENOUNCE» a 3,8/5 review. See it here.

Abroad the record is slowly becoming available as well. The End Records have stocked it for the US, while Firebox has it available for Finland and, by mailorder, for a few other countries as well. Finland’s Overhook Music and desibeli.net is also having a good review online. Chronicles Of Chaos have their share of praise as well. More reviews reports will follow soon.

NOVEMBER 8, 2006
After a few delays in the production, the Process Of Guilt’s «RENOUNCE» CDs are finally on the way, and thus we are pleased to announce that the pre-ordered packs will be send out this Friday, November 10th. Believe us:it will worth the wait. The release-date of the CD was delayed to November 17th. Look for it in your local stores/mailorder if you live in Portugal, USA, Canada or Finland. Release in other territories will be announced soon.

OCTOBER 12, 2006
Even though we had previously announced the release of «Hellstone», it's with great sadness that we now announce the amicable split between MLI and the band, Men Eater. Both parts didn't reach an agreement and contractual differences prevent us from releasing the album, which is already set to be a landmark and one of the biggest surprises coming from Portugal - believe us, we heard it plenty of times already and it is THAT good! We sincerely wish the best of lucks to the band.

We now have a distribution service for Portugal, carrying some of the finest labels around for the Portuguese records shops – and also to sell directly to you. Check out the Distribution section and find something to hear for the rest of your life. Soon, we’ll feature as well some info about how you can find your favorite MLI releases in your country.

OCTOBER 3, 2006

To celebrate our first batch of releases we are offering a couple of pre-order packages through our website. The first one is for «Renounce» – expect another one for «Hellstone» really soon – and is available starting today. For 20 euros (+ postage if you live outside Portugal) this gives you the option to get the CD, a limited edition t-shirt, three postcards and also a poster.

Why should you purchase this? Well, first of all you will get the album before it hits the shops. Not enough? Besides all the free goodies, you’ll also get a very unique t-shirt with a design that will never be reprinted. All the merchandise available on this packages is made exactly to order, which keeps things very limited.

This offer will be available only online and during a limited time period – all packages will be send out by October, 30. Don’t waste your time – get your own copy now! AUGUST 4, 2006

Something BIG is coming your way...
The newly launched MAJOR LABEL INDUSTRIES proudly announces the signing of two of the newest and brightest sensations out of  the portuguese underground movement -- Process Of Guilt and Men Eater . Both bands debut full-length albuns -- yep, you're right, we're THAT old! and still calling it "albuns" :)) - will be on the shelves by the summer's end.

Process Of Guilt 's «Renounce» was recorded at the 5ª Dimensão Estúdios (by the band with João Bacelar) and mastered at the famous Cutting Room Studios, in Sweden, by Thomas Eberger (know for his work with bands like Katatonia, Opeth and Daylight Dies). Expect nothing more than sorrowful doses of funeral doom metal with some post-doom touches.

Men Eater 's «Hellstone» was recorded at the Blacksheep Studios by Makoto Yagiu (of If Lucy Fell fame) and mixed/mastered at the Red Room Reccording, in Seattle, by Matt Bayles and Chris Commons (who just finished working on the latest Mastodon, Isis and These Arms Are Snakes records). Prepare yourself for a highly contagious mix of sludge/doom with expanding sonic landscapes.

Keep on rocking and...

Stay tuned for more information on this space.
