Formed in early 2008, Mourning Lenore is a doom metal band hailing from the ancient city of Lisbon, Portugal. João Arruda put out the band together, firstly without a name, searching for visionary doom lovers in the web, soon finding three of them to start the quest. João Galrito, Claúdia Andrade and Emanuel Henriques joined the band and started building piece by piece, brick by brick, the personality and orientation of the band. Later that year, after searching through several bass players, Joana Martins became Mourning Lenore's bassist to help spreading the melancholy and decandence so intimately connected with the band. Needing some more heaviness, in October 2008 Mourning Lenore parts ways with their female singer, Claúdia Andrade, and guitarist João Galrito assumes the role of band's frontman and shares his pain with the world. Soon after, the group hooked up with producer Fernando Matias (Moonspell, f.e.v.e.r., Insaniae, etc) in Urban Insect Studios in order to record two songs which were unleashed in the split-CD with Insaniae to celebrate Daemonium Blog's 3rd anniversary.

The songs - «Rain's Seduction» and «Patterns Of Emptiness» - caught the ears of Major Label Industries and all the label needed more was to see one of the several gigs the band played to promote the split-release and hear the first sounds of the debut album to offer Mourning Lenore a deal. “Never change a winning team” they say, so «Loosely Bounded Infinities» was, again, recorded in Urban Insect Studios with Fernando Matias, foreshowing the Lisbon band's appetite for new textures and even proggy/psych hints in their heartfelt death/doom metal. The future looks bright as the music is bleak for these young Portuguese wanderers.
